Surprise!!! I had my baby, and he was 3 weeks and 4 days early. We have a little late pre-term baby. He was born December 28. He was just in time for tax deduction!
Here's my birth story.
Early that week, I started having strong Braxton hicks. It was really uncomfortable. I even woke up one night, and I thought I was in labor. After drinking water, the contraction went away. I was so relieved.
Timeline:
December 27th - All day
I was on the phone majority of the day dealing wit Horizon and NJ Family Care Advantage. All I want to know if they received the check I sent two weeks ago since it wasn't posted yet. They kept passing me around. I was so upset because kept telling me to call a certain number then when I call that number they will tell me to call another number . . . the whole process drained my energy. Later that afternoon, I kinda felt weird. I can't explain how or why. Also that day, Bradley kept on insisting that the baby is going to come out the next day. I kept reminding him that we have 4 more weeks to go.
December 28th
4ish AM- I woke up to go to pee, and I realized that my panty was soaked. I turned on the lights, and I sat on the recliner for maybe an hour- I was in denial. I kept telling myself that it couldn't be! we have 4 weeks to go, and we are not ready yet! Around 530ish, I called my midwife. She advised to be at the hospital by 7am. I then heard H coming down the stairs on his way to the bathroom. Some of you may not know, but I've been sleeping on the recliner in our living for more than a month due to SPD and sciatic pain. H was wondering why the lights in the living room is on. I told H that I think that my water broke, and we need to get ready to go to the hospital. We got ready, and we woke up my mom to let her now.
Me at the Triage.
The on call midwife got there 7ish am. She checked my cervix to see if I'm dilated. I wanted to punched her. It was so painful because my cervix was too far back. My cervix was also closed.

After an hour, they moved me to the labor and delivery room. The contraction was picking up and getting stronger. The new midwife came in. She also checked me, and it's still shot. It was a painful as earlier. She advised us to walk and do nipple stimulation to get my contraction stronger. H and I went for a walk and did some nipple stimulation. We also walked too far, because they sent a search party for us. They weren't able to get the feed of the wireless monitor I was wearing. I also sat on a yoga/birthing ball to help with the contraction pain.
.

3:30ish PM- I was barely 1cm, and I wasn't progressing. My midwife, H and I discussed the next move. Since it's been 12 hours and I wasn't progressing, my midwife suggested repeat c-section. The midwife stepped out, so H and I can discussed it. We opted for repeat c-section, since I wasn't progressing. I was actually exhausted, and I can no longer take the pain. I also told my midwife that I want epidural now, since I can no longer tolerate the pain. The anesthesiologist came, and he advised me not to get epidural, since I'm going to have c-section. He's going to give me a pain medication via IV to handle the pain, but he will give me a different one when they are going to open me. The pain medication didn't really take a way the pain. It made me relax- it kinda reminds me of morphine. The pain medication only took away the "edge" of the pain.
They wheeled me down to the OR. I was so loopy! They kept asking me questions, and I don't know if I was making sense when I was answering them. H was in the OR too!

5:21PM- Zachary Was born. The doctor told us that the cord was wrap around his neck! We were glad we opted for the c-section.

Fresh from the womb

H was so excited showing him off to me!

One eye pirate, Arh!

After the surgery, I was somewhat coherent. I started to have feelings on my waist down. I was in the recovery room for a few minutes, and they moved me to our room. BTW, I love my LDD nurse, and the midwife. They were awesome.
That night was all a blur to me. I know I was pumping trying to my milk come in. I just kept starring at Z, and I will fell asleep sitting down and my chin on my chest.
December 29th- The next day H went to get B and my mom. B was so excited.
My 3 boys.

My mom

Proud dad and his goofy smile

He is so gorgeous.

The recovery was way better this time than I had B. Maybe because, I had great nurses. They were really helpful, patience, understanding and nice. It's also probably that I didn't have epidural. I didn't feel the pain of the incision till the next day. I was able to handle the pain with Tylenol with Codeine. The gas and cramping was a different story. I was also having pressure from my bladder being full. My nurse advised me to get up to relived the pressure and sit on the toilet and try to pee. Getting up from the bed and walking- more like shuffling towards the bathroom was agonizing. I thought I was gonna pass out from the pain. It was worst that the contraction pain, but my nurse was "there" for me. It took us forever to get to the bathroom. I sat in the toilet for probably 2 hours. I wasn't able to pee, so they reinserted the catheter just to drain my bladder. It felt so great! After that, I was able to pee on my own and felt a lot better. I was able to sit and walk on my own.
December 31st- We got discharged. I also met with the lactation consultant. She is amazing! She was able to help me make Z latch.
Once we got home, B was so excited, and he fed Z right away.
